IP has selected Arsenic and Old Lace as its Winter Show to be performed on Friday & Saturday, February 17th & 18th, 7:00 p.m., at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center.

Joseph Kesselring’s highly amusing and wicked tale tells the story of two presumably sweet old ladies, both considered pillars of Brooklyn society for their charitable works and generosity to their neighbors. Even they, however, have their peculiarities. The antics of their nephew Teddy, who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt, and the madcap confusion that ensues when their nephew Mortimer enters the scene, make for a delightful comedy-thriller.
The play is being directed by Howard Scott and produced by Joyce Morehouse.

Abby Brewster : Charlotte Manning : A darling lady in her sixties. Sister to Martha and an Aunt to Teddy, Jonathan, and Mortimer
Martha Brewster : Joan Blair : A sweet elderly lady with Victorian charm. Sister to Abby and an aunt to Teddy, Jonathan, and Mortimer
Teddy Brewster : Jim Sorensen : Nephew of Abby and Martha Brewster, a man who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt
Mortimer Brewster : Steve Reiss : Nephew of Abby and Martha, a drama critic who is engaged to Elaine. He is a nice man who cares for his aunts.
Elaine Harper : Hannah Johnson : An attractive young woman, Mortimer’s fiancée. Elaine is the daughter of Dr. Harper. She is surprisingly wise in the ways of the world for a minister’s daughter.
The Rev. Dr. Harper : Bob Wagner : Minister and father of Elaine
Mr. Gibbs : Dutton Morehouse : A man who wishes to rent a room from the Brewster sisters
Jonathan Brewster : Jens Hansen : Nephew of Abby and Martha Brewster. He is a psychopath who has had plastic surgery to change his appearance.
Dr. Einstein : Ham Rutledge : A plastic surgeon and an alcoholic who has changed Jonathan’s face three times.
Lieutenant Rooney : Terry Henkel : A tough and dominating police officer
Officer O’Hara : Lee Engstrom : A police officer, a would-be playwright who pesters Mortimer to read his play
Officer Brophy : Dan Yildirim : A police officer
Officer Klein : Oliver Hansen : A police officer
Mr. Witherspoon : John Nourse : The superintendent of Happy Dale Sanitarium
